Potato To Unicum Guide: Fv4202 British Medium (Tea) Line

Potato To Unicum Guides
Fv4202 British Medium Line
(Tier V)

Tier V - (Crusader)

Simply, I hated the Crusader so badly when I was grinding through it. Don't argue, just how I felt that it wasn't suitable for me, it's my opinion. This tank is like a upgrade of the Covenanter, with a similar turret and hull shape. This tank would help you experience the first few tiers you are about to go up and the changes in gameplay.

Armor

No wonder how this tank is amazingly fast and manoeuvrable, it has no armor. Although this can bounce a lot being top tier, doesn't help a lot of you find yourself encountering tank destroyers or heavy tanks.
  • Lower Glacis: 20-23* effective, Upper Glacis: 21-30* effective (40-50 at driver's viewport)
  • Hull Sides: 28* effective (48* /w tracks), Arse: 28* effective
  • Turret Mantlet: 60*, Turret Front: 50*, Turret Side: 24-25*, Turret Back: 23-28*
  • Cupola: Its flat on the turret top.
Armament

The first gun you are given on this vehicle, the 2-pdr Mk. X is fairly a good and bad gun at the same time. Having a 24.29 rof with 0.35 (1.7 aim) accuracy which it is the same with the Matilda's gun (more rof though. 18 for the Matilda). There are four guns you can use on this vehicle if you have the second turret:

As I said the first gun, isn't that good unless you seal-club at top tier. 78 penetration with 121 with APCR isn't that good to go against some Tier 7 tanks, and even if you do pen you only do 45 average damage per hit. (DPM: 24.29 x 45 = 1093 dmg) Also don't even think about getting the QQF 3in Howitzer since it's useless, but if you are dumb buy it. You want to grind all the way to the QF 6-pdr Gun Mk.V since it's the best by penetration and dpm. That gun is the only way to help you play well in bottom tier and support fire.

Mobility

Just like all the tanks in the British medium line except the Fv4202, this tank is fast since it's a medium/light tank at the same time with 44 km/h top speed. It also has a turret traverse speed of 46 degrees per second (Crusader Mk.III turret mod.)

Overall Rating

6.0 / 10
Although the Crusader is good in some views, I do not recommend playing this vehicle a lot since it has a similar play style like the previous covenanter, and if you don't get the second/third gun fast, you'll hate playing with those tier 7's. I was like, "Oh this is good" when I found out the gun reloaded fast, but when I saw that it's average damage was 45, my happiness went from 10 to 7. The next vehicle in the guide, the Cromwell is very, very different and has a whole new play style as a medium tank rather than it's predecessor, Crusader.

See ya'll tankers in the battlefield!

Mistunderstanding.

Achtung Tankers!

It has been a while since the last time I've posted, but since I was busy with work and crap, I didn't have time to write up a complete guide! I decided to go on for the Fv 4202 line in my alternative account, and likely I would write its' guide for now rather than the E50M line.

Thanks for understanding!

Potato To Unicum Guide: E50M German Line (Tier VI)

Potato To Unicum Guides
E50M German Medium Line
(Tier VI)

Tier V - (VK 30.02 M "MAN")

Really, you don't expect anything much from this tank. It's really like the Panther itself, but just the "prototype" that looks like it. I believe that this tank very effective it both top/bottom tier, although I was often top tier in this vehicle, but the only way to play it effectively is to use it's strengths and weaknesses to your side. Although the hull of this tank surely looks like it's grand-grand child, the E50M I'll tell that this tank barely has any strong armor.

Armor

Finally after the Germans noticed that the sloped armor was very effective back then to increase armor strength, this tank looks more beautiful and better than those ugly VK 30.01's and 36's. Well, playing at tier 6, this tank' armor still doesn't reach it's maximum and won't bounce a lot except the mantlet.
  • Lower Glacis: 60* (102* effective), Upper Glacis: 60* (95* effective)
  • Hull Sides: 40* (48* effective or 60* with tracks), Arse: 40* (45* effective)
  • Mantlet: 25* and 100* (100 - 150* effective), Turret Front: 101*, Turret Side: 45*, Turret Back: 45 - 85*
  • Cupola: 80*
Overall, this vehicle has barely any armor, but still can bounce some tier 5's and 4's unless it's a tier 7 or 8. Side scraping is very helpful since the side armor is angled already. Likely transmissions and engine fires may be common so be aware. Also since the side armor is paper, be careful of those soviet 152 derps. A single HE/AP shot can grind your health down or ammo rack you. Wiggling the armor may be useful if you are in a close quarter combat.

Armament

In my opinion, the first gun given (7.5 cm K.w.K 40 L/48) is a good gun at tier 6. 160 avg damage with an rpm 9.12 is a fair gun also with 110 Ap and 158 APCR penetration. The second gun also the last gun, 7.5 cm K.w.K 42 L/70 trades of the previous gun with better aim time, reload time and dispersion with 0.35. Having 150 mm of penetration with AP you would barely need the 194 mm penetration of the APCR.

Mobility

This tank is barely fast nor slow with it's first engine, but this vehicle is still a medium tank so I would greatly recommend to research the engines and tracks before the armament or turret. 55 km/h top speed is a good thing for thing tank, which you can circle tank destroyers very easily. This tank is useful for support fire/sniping and peek-a-boom tactics, since you can relocate map sides with your speed.

Overall Rating

7/10
Well yes, this tank is highly manoeuvrable, great support fire tank, accurate gun with fair dpm, but I did not enjoy this tank over all.  It was fun seal-clubbing, but the weak armor gave it a bad rating. Again, I highly recommend you to side-scrape, hit and run, scout, aggressive attacks, and do great damage. Take advantage of your speed to outmanoeuvre enemy tank destroyers. You can take a hit or two, rngesus won't help.

Info: When Do I Post Blogs?

G'day Tankers!

I can guess that you guys will ask when do I post guides, video gameplays, talks, update information, and other random things on my blog! Since I live both in the North American Region (East Coast) and in Japan different times, which I will inform here are the times I may post:

NA Region:
  • Weekday: 5:00/6:00 P.M and 8:00/9:00 PM
  • Weekends: Anytime
JP Regions (Asia):
  • Weekday/Weekends: mostly every hour I can.
Also! My guides are only posted after I had gained enough experience playing this vehicle and I understand it very well. I'm not going to really give a guide when I have a 50% or less win rate in my vehicle at 100 battles.

Thanks for understanding!

Potato To Unicum Guides: E50M German Line (Tier V)

Greetings Tankers!

This will be my first guide on the tanks in the game, and all these will come from my experience while I grind without paying on my alt account. (Lieutenant_Potato) If you have any question contact me in-game.

Potato To Unicum Guides
E50M German Medium Line
(Tier V)

Tier V - (VK 30.01 Henschel)

Simply in my opinion, the Vk 30.01 H is a sluggish and tough tank at it's tier. It would be proved an effective front-line tank if top-tier, but a support tank bottom tier. It would be a great tank if you want to experience to level of gameplay if you are going to grind the E-100 line, driving the VK 36.01 H and Tiger I, but this is different; it's the E50M line.

Armor

Just like how the Germans made their tanks until they knew how to slope armor, this is a flat armoured tank, barely any angled armor except the mantlet. This isn't like those Russian Kv-1's, T-34s; this tank has FLAT armor.
  • Lower Glacis: 50-53* effective, Upper Glacis: 50* (0* at driver's viewport)
  • Hull Sides: 50* (70* including tracks), Arse: 50 - 54*
  • Turret Mantlet : 60 - 80*, Turret Front: 40*, Turret Side 51 - 62*, Turret Back 62 - 64*
  • Cupola: 50*
* is mm (millimeter)

To play this vehicle, I would highly recommend to use the side scraping technique since it's 70 mm effective on the sides including tracks (15 - 20 deg angling) making it 130 <  N/A armor. Since the hull is the weakest on this vehicle, I will hide the hull compartment since there is the engine, which most german tanks would burn or break their transmission when hit. (50mm effective is basically tier III armor). Use the turret armor to bounce many shots against those annoying tier III/IV machine guns.

Armament

The first 7.5cm K.w.K 37 L/24 given on this vehicle is horrendous. 43* for AP and 83* HEAT pen is more like a tier II tank destroyer. I would likely choose to When grinding for the gun, don't get the temptation to get the 7.5 K.w.K 42 L/70 since it's "cheaper" to grind. Get the 7.5/5.5 cm Waffe since it is a t7 gun with 157* Ap and 225* penetration for it's gold ammo. Trading with the 7.5 Kwk for greater dpm, accuracy, and penetration this gun is worth the grind, since you meet tier 7 tanks.

Mobility

The stock engine and tracks would give you a nightmare driving this vehicle. When you reach the battlefield, most of your team or the enemy team is gone. Getting the new engine will enhance your dreams and speed.

Overall Rating

7.5 / 10
This tank is only effective because of it's top tier gun, since it's penetration is an average tier 6/7 penetration at tier 5. It is one of the first heavy tanks in the german line which resembles the tier 6 and 7 counterpart, Vk 36.01H and Tiger 1 by its sluggish speed and no sloped armor. Hull down positioning and side scraping is helpful to brawl in this vehicle. Terrain resistance is horrible, so when you go for a swim or a hill ride, it's horribly sad.

See ya'll tankers on the battlefield!

Hello tankers!

Considering that if you guys want to platoon or chat together in-game I have two accounts you can choose from:

- SergPotato which is my main account I use to play Blitz.

Lieutenant_Potato is my second account. Not only for a re-roll, but I'm trying to give good reviews              and gameplay in it.

Best regards -

Welcome and Hello!

Hello tankers!

Greetings to you, this is a website I set up for you guys who wants to see some latest information or guides from the games.
First thing first, I'll introduce myself. I'm SergPotato and I'm a detailed historian and gamer as some of you know, and I'm from Japan. To be precise I just enjoy correcting people who explains history wrongly, by how the victors say.

This forum/blog would be mostly about combat games and myself grinding the hell out, and giving out guides to play. Recording videos would be a topic for later, but if you want to find me somewhere just see the username SergPotato and voila! This is my first entry, and I'll like to see you guys further on in the future!

Panzer Vor!

Best regards -
